Fall is the season of love. It’s the perfect time to snuggle up, explore outside in the cooler weather, or partake in some festive activities with someone you care about. Here Are Ten Fall Date Ideas to Do With That Special Someone This Autumn!
1. A Creative Fall Date Night Idea: Have a Fall Movie Date Night in a Blanket Fort
Build a blanket fort in your living room, pop some popcorn, grab your fuzzy socks, and watch a classic fall movie like Hocus Pocus.
A movie and is one of my favorite activities. Technically, it’s something I first came up with as an activity for kids I used to watch, but I quickly realized it makes a super fun and cute date night as well.
I like to build my forts out of sheets because of their lightweight. All you need is a clothesline and some clips. Then, drape your sheets across your living room to make a romantic little hideaway. If you want to get real fancy, a teepee takes care of the hard work and is so cute.
Make sure you can still see your TV! Add some soft blankets and pillows in there, pop some popcorn, heck- even make yourself a picnic, and settle down to watch one of your fall movie favorites.
2. One of My Favorite Date Nights: Go For a Bike Ride and Picnic
Bike rides are the best in autumn. There is nothing like feeling the crisp air blowing through your hair. That’s why a bike ride is one of my favorite fall date night ideas. Go for a bike ride, pack a picnic, and enjoy the crisp fall air together.
You can pack yourself a picnic in your bike basket or a backpack, and then take a ride to your favorite scenic spot.
Candlelit picnics are a very romantic touch, just be careful not to burn anything.
I also like to pack a little game to play, or some conversation starters to enjoy your evening under the stars.
3. The Classic Fall Date Night Idea: Carve Pumpkins Together
I know, it’s a classic, but it’s one that you just can’t skip. Pumpkin carving can make a fantastic fall date night, and if you need any design ideas, check out this post. You could opt to paint them instead, really, whatever floats your boat, just make sure you reserve a night to make this happen.
4. A Yummy Date Idea: Bake Pumpkin Bread
There is something about the smell of pumpkin spice in the kitchen that is so comforting and wonderful. Making an autumn treat can be a really cozy and fun date night.
Bonus points if you make it for the neighbors or some friends. This will add a little extra element of excitement to the night.
5. At Home Date Night: Movie and Dinner Fall Date Night at Home
Fall is the season for soups. Make a delicious butternut squash, chicken noodle, or pumpkin soup together.
You might also think about making some bread bowls to go with it. This combo is the best. If you need a recipe idea, this one is my favorite.
When your soup is ready, sit down to enjoy your dinner while watching a Halloween Movie Marathon.
6. Another Classic Fall Date Night Idea: Go to a Fall Festival, Pumpkin Patch, or Corn Maze
There are so many fun activities happening this season. These activities are always better with someone by your side.
Pick out some pumpkins, get lost in the corn maze, and enjoy the rides and other events at your local fall festival. If you’re in Arizona, check out this post for the best festivals near you.
7. Date Night for the Party People: Host A Costume Party Date Night
Halloween is the perfect excuse to have fun with friends. Plan a costume party date night, and make it a group thing. You’re bound to have a good time.
8. A Romantic Fall Date Night: Go Stargazing
Donuts, cider, a blanket, and a night under the stars? Yes, please! Does anything sound cozier to you? Pick up some cider and a few pumpkin spice donuts and go stargazing.
This fall date idea will for sure make a romantic night for you and that special person.
9. A Date Night Under the Stars: Go to a Drive-in Theater
I don’t know why drive-in movie theaters are so much fun, but there’s definitely something about watching a movie under the stars that makes for a fun filled night.
If you have a truck, put a mattress and some blankets and pillows back there, and make it a cozy place to hang out for the evening.
Pick a movie you both will love, and enjoy your movie under the stars in the crisp autumn air.
10. Ideas for Adventure Seekers: Do a Fall Hike together
There is nothing like a hike during the fall when the leaves are changing. Pick a fall hike with some scenic autumn views, and take it all in! It’s great exercise, a lot of fun, and above all, a really romantic setting all in one.
